ALLAHABAD: With the state government announcing to hold recruitment process for vacant seats in the state police department, the postal department is gearing up to manage the logistics.
The postal department will make available the application forms at 169 post offices in Uttar Pradesh from July 18 onwards. Sharing details of the exercise with TOI, director, postal services, Allahabad region, Krishna Kumar Yadav said that the application forms would be sold from July 18 to August 20 at 169 post offices in the state out of which 24 are in the Allahabad region.
He said that two different types of forms will be available at the post offices.One will be in khaki coloured envelopes which will be distributed free of cost to those candidates who had applied for UP police recruitment examination 2011 where the selection process was shelved by the state government. In the second category, the forms in white envelopes will be available for Rs 200 for fresh candidatesd.
Yadav said in order to obtain a free of cost application form in khaki coloured envelopes, applicants will be required to submit an application and declaration in a prescribed proforma submitting their last OMR application form number which is on display at the notice board of all identified post offices.
He added that the counter assistants at different post offices will provide two acknowledgement receipts with date stamped along with the complete set of forms. These receipts will be required at the time of submission of forms by the applicant.
Completed forms will be submitted only to the post office from where they have been purchased. Under no circumstances, application forms will be accepted by any other post office.
A candidate can only get one set of form.Forms in Allahabad region would be available at the Allahabad Head Post Office(HPO), Kutchery Post Office, City Post Office, Handia, Karchana, Sirathu, Pratapgarh, Lalgunj and Patti. GHazipur HPO, Saidpur, Mohammadabad Yusufpur, Jaunpur HPO, Mariyahun, BHU Varanasi, Varanasi Cantt.
