Madhya Pradesh to follow Chhattisgarh way ?
Madhya Pradesh government would consider raising the retirement age of state Govt. employees from the current 60 years to 62, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan has said. “We will consider the matter,” Chouhan told PTI recently when asked whether the issue was under consideration of the state government, in view of the Chhattisgarh government recently increasing the age of retirement to 62 years from 60 for its employees.
“Madhya Pradesh will consider such issues in its own manner and will not follow what other states are doing on the matter,” the chief minister said during his ongoing Jan Ashirwad yatra in the state’s newly created Agar-Malwa district.
The announcement by Chhattisgarh had led to speculation that Madhya Pradesh too could make anannouncement in this regard as already it (retirement age) is different for school teachers college/ university professors and doctors (specialists) in the state.
For the university/ college teachers and doctors (specialists) in Madhya Pradesh, the retirement age is 65 years while for the school teachers it is 62.
For rest of the employees, the age of superannuation is 60 years in the state.
J & K employees call strike.
Jammu, Aug 18 (PTI) Jammu and Kashmir government employees today announced to hold a state-wide strike on August 23 in support of their demands, including raising retirement age from 58 to 60 years.
